Book Arts

My senior year at Kenyon, I took a life-changing class called Book Arts that ultimately set in motion my path back to design. It reawakened the euphoria of creating something with my hands, gave me an outlet for my voice as an artist and writer, and reminded me that I thrive in the liminal space between disciplines.

I am currently in the process of documenting and organizing visuals for this page, so it is still a work in progress — but please ask me about my work if you’d like to know more!

BOOK AS TEXT

BOOK AS ARCHIVE

can you imagine a life in which your fight or flight mechanisms are constantly firing?
a mix of productivity and paralysis
i get the impression that my mom worries a lot about me
i could feel myself getting emotional in a bad way
so upset with myself for no reason
this is when we talked about medication
if i continue to act like this i will become not only a burden but a hindrance
feeling like a stranger in my own brain
i got so overwhelmingly upset in one moment that i ripped out what must have been ten hairs at once
i am nervous i am going to have bruises on my arm tomorrow
i have fallen prey to the vortex
